  • USE THE TOR BROWSER (with a VPN) 
  • Use Virus Total’s Link Checker to check for malicious links before clicking on them. Bad actors will inject code into links that are usually fine to click on, and the sender of the link may even be unaware that they sent you a bad link.  
  • Use browsers that prioritize privacy such as DuckDuckGo or Firefox Focus 
  • Use a VPN (Virtual Private Network) on your phone & computer  
  • Privacy Badger extension for your browser blocks trackers from website  
  • CALL YOUR CREDIT CARDS, CELL PHONE PROVIDER, UTILITIES, AND BANK TO LET THEM KNOW YOU ARE A TARGET 
    • To prevent “sim-swapping,” call your cell phone provider and tell them that they should note on your account that you must show physical ID inside of a store location to make certain changes to your account.

  4. Louisiana: Passed an anti-doxing law in 2020 (Personal Privacy Protection Act) 
  5. Mississippi: Passed an anti-doxing law in 2019 (Personal Privacy Protection Act) 

     
  6. Missouri: Passed an anti-doxing law in 2022 (Personal Privacy Protection Act) 
  7. North Dakota: Passed House Bill 1134, which classifies doxing as a Class A misdemeanor  
  8. Oklahoma: Passed an anti-doxing law in 2020 (Personal Privacy Protection Act) 
  9. South Dakota: Passed the Personal Privacy Protection Act
